Dear Cardenas Family,

I am so, so sorry to hear about the loss of your mom. She was a great lady; always interested in whoever she was talking to, always entertaining. Some of my earliest memories involve your mom. When your dad and my dad were setting up their law practice and my mom was doing secretarial work for them, your mom would sometimes babysit my siblings and me. She was bossy and fun! Then later in life, my husband and I would often sit in back of your parents at UCLA football games. I'm not sure that your mom ever really watched the games; she was having too good a time talking to everyone around her! I was one of those people. She would ask me a million questions about my family and my life. What I loved best about her is that she truly listened and she was truly interested in our lives. And she was funny. Can't forget that part. She made me laugh!

I will miss your mom, just like I miss your sweet, sweet dad. It was an honor to know them.

Much love,
Nina Ceragioli Johnson
