George Matsuichi Ito, age 100, died peacefully on December 25, 2017 in Los Angeles, CA. George was a Roosevelt High School alum, where he was a star athlete; member of The Cougars, Japanese-American baseball team of Boyle Heights. George served in the US military(WWII), VFW Post 9902 and was interned at Poston Internment Camp. George worked for San Lorenzo Florist until he retired. George later spent his retirement playing golf, watching the L.A. Dodgers, and enjoying his large family. He would even make time to visit the Cal in Las Vegas to play the machines that still dropped coins. George is survived by his sister, Shiz Shibata, two sons, George Ito and Dennis Ito Sr., grandchildren, Lisa Duncan, Dennis Ito Jr. and Ashley Ito, and many great-grandchildren. George will be buried on January 12, 2018.
