Ravindra Badkar Obituary

October 1, 1933 - July 4, 2016 Ravindra Kalyanrao Badkar passed away in the early morning hours of July 4, 2016, at the age of 82 of complications from a stroke. He was born in Mumbai, India, and came to the United States at the age of 26 to attend UCLA, where he earned a degree in mechanical engineering. He worked for many years in the aerospace industry and later became an international businessman. Throughout his life he never stopped chasing big dreams, and was a consummate world traveler that loved his family, food and adventure. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Gunhild Badkar, his sons Krisan (Edith) Badkar and Dinesh (Dione) Badkar, daughter Geeta Badkar (Tom Chapin), six grandchildren - Michael, Xajani, Tao, Devin, Dilani and Satish - and countless friends, all of whom will miss him dearly. A celebration of Ravi's life will be held on Saturday, July 30th.
