Beverly Jean Ray
August 25, 1926-December 8, 2017
With a heavy heart we note the passing of our mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Beverly (Bev) Ray, 91, of Bermuda Dunes, CA and formerly of Long Beach, CA. She passed away peacefully on Friday, December 8th, 2017 with family by her side. Beverly was born on August 25th, 1926 in Pomona, CA to Lewis Joseph Goyette and Hattie Sanders Goyette. She moved with her family to Long Beach prior to her senior year of high school and graduated from Long Beach Poly. She was predeceased by her parents, her loving husband of 64 years, Robert L. Ray, brother Edward Goyette, son in law Decatur L. Dilday, sisters Norma Goyette Schultz and Nancy Goyette Edwards.
Beverly was blessed with a long life, large family and many wonderful friends. She was a vibrant, social and elegant lady. She belonged in her day to Dames Club, Ebell Club, Young Californians and Gyros of the Desert. She was a gracious hostess and an amazing cook who loved to entertain family and friends. Her creativity was evident in her impeccable homes she decorated and her artistic talent in painting. Her annual Bob Hope Classic after party was one she was so well known for. She was a beautiful person both inside and out and was a life-long nurturing wife, mother grandmother and great grandmother who was always there for all of us. Her family wishes to thank the wonderful caregivers she had at Meadowlark Gardens for the past 3 years. She lived as long as she did as they took such fantastic care of her.
She is survived by her daughter Linda Dilday and son Larry Ray (Sheila), her 7 grandchildren: Jason Dilday (Natasha), Tamara Dilday-Gilbert (Aaron), Nicole Dilday-Cohen (Jamey), Shannon Dilday (Scott), Trevor Ray (Angela), Travis Ray and Tyler Ray (Silvana) and 15 great-grandchildren: Katelynn, Jacob, Addison, Carter, Hannah, Alex, Katya, Anya, Sydney, Sutton, Katie, Dylan, Lucas, Natalie and Preston.
