I just learned of Tony's passing this morning. His name came up in relation to the ongoing rescue of the Thai teenagers stuck in a cave due to flooding. I remember that in 1970, Tony decided take a loooonngg hike from the Lookout Tower along the Guadalupe Ridge Road with the goal of arriving at Carlsbad Cavern NP the following day. His hike was cut short by the torrential downpour of rain and his getting lost on the hike. He turned around and arrived at the Lookout Tower cabin around 3 AM. I drove up to the bottom of 3 Mile Hill the following day to pick him up and bring him back down to C'bad. He was completely drenched as a result! I later named a cave after him which I believe he discovered: Guck's Crack. Interesting that he moved to Easton, MD as I have former relatives who live there as well.

Tony was a very wonderful young man and I know was very much into acting. It seems that he succeeded in NY as Tony Brill. So sorry to learn of his passing, but I do remember him well.

To live a full life and find enjoyment for your hard work in assisting others is truly a reward (Ecclesiastes 3:12,13). To family and friends, may you find comfort in your memories.

Tony.......or at least that's who he was to those of us who hung out back stage .... watching him bring "Jigger" to life in Carousel .

His deep voice and laid back attitude always made him an original.... and his dry wit kept us laughing.

I didn't get to keep up with him over the years but I know that he had to have been an amazing man to those whose lives he touched.

Our prayers are with you all as you have to walk this path. God be with you!

Tony, I remember fondly the times we spent singing and acting during our time together in Carlsbad. I am sure many lives have been blessed through your friendship. The curtain has closed on your final act. Bravo on a life well lived. Rest in peace.
