Arturo S. Marquez, 65, passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2018 due to his long battle with diabetes. He is survived by his three children, Jennifer, Sarah, and Erik; his granddaughter, Alina; his sisters, Linda, Mary, Gloria, and Angie; his brothers, Leo, Manuel, and Jesse; and his many nieces and nephews, who will miss their uncle "Toots". His ashes will be laid to rest in a private ceremony on Saturday, February 3, 2018.
Arturo or "Tudy" to his family and friends, was born on March 28, 1952 to Manuel and Dolores Marquez. He attended Mayfield High School where he was a tremendous athlete and would later pass his love of sports on to his son Erik. He was a loving father of 3 and a very hard working man. Tudy had recently retired from NASA where he worked in shipping.
Tudy had been a member of the Las Cruces community for over 60 years. He loved supporting and watching his children, nieces and nephews play sports. The greatest thing about his support was no matter how loud the fans got, we could always hear him above the crowd cheering. He will always be dearly remembered for his love of telling jokes and making everyone laugh around him. After speaking with him, you would always walk away with a smile on your face, because he put it there. Dad, you will be greatly missed. Until we hear your laughing voice again, we love you.

Your dad was very appreciated by everyone who worked with him especially all of the WSC logistics team. I always enjoyed his stories, cooking and Tudy just being himself.

I worked with Tudy for about 20 years. I came to know him as a kind and loving man. Always ready to joke and laugh. One could talk to him about anything. He loved his children so very much and was so proud of his granddaughter. I will miss him so very much. Prayers to you his family and to his many friends who will miss him. Marie Anderson
