Ramon "Horka" Rodriguez

La Mesa - It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, uncle, and dear friend, RAMON "HORKA" RODRIGUEZ, age 70, lifelong resident of La Mesa and a member of the Catholic Church.

"Horka", as he was fondly known, entered eternal life on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at his home. He was born August 30, 1950, to Pablo and Estefana Rodriguez. Horka was a graduate of Gadsden High School and a certified Harley Davidson Mechanic. Horka, although quiet at times, was truly the life of the party. He loved to joke, laugh, dance, and have his beer. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and lived for his family and friends. Horka was known for his beard, his love of classic cars, and his love of Harley Davidson Motorcycles.

He was the greatest husband, father, and grandfather. You will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts.

Those left to mourn his passing include his loving wife of 42 years, Irene Rodriguez of the family home; three daughters, Vanessa M. Boisselier (Rudy) of Buckeye, AZ., Valerie Rodriguez of La Mesa, and Cynthia Rodriguez of Arlington, TX; his grandsons, Ezra and Esai Boisselier, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Paul Rodriguez Jr., and sister, Hopie Cardenas.

Visitation for Mr. Rodriguez will begin at 10 AM Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at San Jose Catholic Church, 353 E. Josephine Street in La Mesa where the Prayer Vigil is scheduled for 10:30 AM. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated immediately thereafter. At his request cremation will take place and Inurnment of cremains will be held at a later date. Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, capacity of attendees will be limited and everyone is asked to please wear a mask. Thank you.

Serving as casket bearers will be Rudy Boisselier, Richard Rodriguez, Isaac Paul Rodriguez, Stephen and Jason Luna and Art Saenz. Honorary bearers will be Hector, David and Ruben Luna.

Irene and girls, so sorry to hear about my primo Monchie, so many good memories of him when we were all in our teens, a dancer omg my god was he a good dancer, we would go to uninvited weddings or quinces in Anthony and all we could see was Monchie standing tall looking around to ask the girls to dance and when he didn’t have anyone to dance with he would say okay prima let’s go dance and I would tell him “ I guess, since I’m just left overs” he would laugh and say come on let’s go, we would swing all through the hall from one end to the other and me so proud to be dancing with my primo coz he was just the best dancer ever. Our most deepest condolences to all the family, our thoughts and prayers are with all. May Monchie Rest in Heavenly Peace ❤

Our deepest condolences to you. Ramon was always a very kind and respectful man. It was a pleasure enjoying all of Cynthia's and Ana's games that we were able to share. It was an inspiration to see how much he loved and cared for you. May God bless you with much peace and love. Reyes, Martha and the Valtierra family.

My heart felt condolences with the passing of my Padrino "Monchie." He was padrino of my 1st communion. As I was growing up I thought he was one of the coolest people that I had ever met and I thought the world of him. He was a member of the family he was always at all of the family events such as cook outs and he was one of my brother Eddie and sister in laws groomsmen. I never saw a mean bone in him or had a bad thing to say about anyone. It seemed that I was attached to him at the side I guess cause he was a surrogate big brother to me which is why I asked him to be my padrino. I was humbled and honored when said yes. I guess I should stop because I am wanting to say so much but I know that my words would start to jumble. But know that you all are in my prayers and I will ask my Franciscan brothers and sisters to raise my Padrino's soul in prayer. In closing I once more offer you my heartfelt condolences for your loss. My God grant you peace, may He also bless you and keep you.
