Camille Gary Roye, 71 of Las Cruces, New Mexico, passed away on December 4, 2017. Her family is thankful she is whole and healed in heaven.
Camille was a beloved wife and mother. She was proceeded in death by her husband Louis C Roye. She is survived by her two daughters Darla Shores (husband Jaimie) of Baltimore, MD and Andrea Wade (husband Chris) of Ralls, TX. She has three treasured grandchildren, Brayden, Devin and Eastlyn Wade. Camille is also survived by her brother Bill Gary (wife Leslie) of Las Cruces, NM, brother-in-law Ronald Roye (wife Wava) of Lewisville, TX, sister in law Lynda Banet (husband Jerry) of Princeton, IN and many nieces, nephews and a very sweet great nephew.
Camille was born June 15, 1946 to Woodrow and Caroline Gary in Las Cruces, NM. She was raised in Hatch, NM, on the family farm and graduated from Hatch Valley High in 1964. She lived in Hatch most of her life, with short stays in Lovington, NM, Aurora, CO and Las Cruces, NM. While in college, Camille joined the Chi Omega sorority, where she met lifelong friends and found a new way to serve others and be social, a sought-after activity.
After graduating from New Mexico State University in 1968, she moved to Lovington, NM to be a county extension agent. While there, after some rodeo dancing, she met the love of her life, Louis.
Louis and Camille were married in March of 1970. They settled in Hatch in 1983, where they raised their two daughters and were small business owners in the valley until retiring. Camille was a member of the St. Johns United Methodist Church in Hatch and served on many committees and served many enchiladas at the annual supper.
Camille was very active in many organizations and serving others. She was lovingly involved in Rainbow for Girls as a youth and then in advising roles most of her adult life. This lead her to join Eastern Star, an activity she shared with her mother and many, many friends across New Mexico. She loved these organizations deeply.
Camille, was a daughter, sister, mother, friend, and follower of Jesus. She would lend a helping hand when asked and touched many lives in her time here. She will be greatly missed and remain deeply loved by all who knew her.
A memorial service will be held December 15, 2017 at Morning Star United Methodist Church at 1:00 pm.

So sorry to hear of Camille's passing. I knew her briefly but always enjoyed her. We were both members of The Daughter's of the American Revolution and I met her at the meetings. So sad for you all.
