It was such a pleasure to reconnect with Sarah at Central United Methodist worship services while she was able to attend. She and I shared news of friends and family.
we talked of those whom we had known and fondly remembered. Sarah had a quick with and a twinkle in her eyes. She kept me on my toes!
Once she told me, "When this family came to church to see their daughter play the chimes and sing in a program, I told them 'this is your pew'! We want to see you here now so we will get acquainted with you. Your daughter is so precious to all of us.' Sure enough that couple came regularly from then on and joined the church. Sarah and the rest of the congregation enfolded the couple into their lives and everyone grew in faith as the children took active part in all of the worship service.
Lorene drove Sarah and other friends to church every Sunday. But as Sarah begin to feel less steady she told me, "I'm not going to be able to attend much longer. I know Lorene will feel terrible she can't bring me to church, but I can't put her in a position where she would have to suddenly pick me up if I fell because she couldn't. I won't do that to her. She's a good friend. Now you help comfort her when I can't be here any longer."
I haven't been able to attend church for a very long time now, but when we are able to again, I will look at the pew where Sarah used to sit with her friends, and I will remember her and the impact for good she had on so many lives. We will miss your mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and our friend. Elizabeth (Weeks)and Nick Woods

Your grandmother/mother/mother-in-law/great-grandmother Sarah was such a delightful woman, always cheerful and forward thinking - an inspiration, for sure. Thank you for sharing her with us! We send our warmest thoughts to your family. ❤
