Charlotte Stokes was my high school teacher in the mid 1970's here in Boulder, Colorado. I treasured her! I visited her a couple times in Virginia, and we corresponded for a while. One of my best teachers ever. My thoughts are with her family. I am so sorry to see this information on-line.

Praying for your strength during this difficult time. I met Charlotte when I first came to ACPS. My children were very young at that time and as fate would have it my daughter(an educator) met her when she came to work for Prince George's County schools. Iimmediately she looked at her and said you look just like someone I know.(let me remind you when Mrs. Stokes first met my daughter , she was a third grader )yet she remembered her and there was a great bond formed between them as well. Charlotte was so kind and helpful to all. Her smile was contagious and she will be missed by many. God bless you all. Cynthia Mckie

The Stokes family have been our neighbors for 30 years. I remember her walking the boys trick or treating. Garrett was especially cute in his dinosaur costume. We saw in her a fierce pride in her family, her culture, and the profession of being an educator. Our love and sympathy to the entire family. She will be missed in Lake Devereux.
