I very much regret not being able to get to Hudson Valley for Aunt Dot's mass and funeral. My brother Steve kuprych called me Saturday and informed me of Dot's passing, and sadly I cannot get to Poughquag in time to pay respects to Dot and her/our family, so I hope this small note will act in my stead. Aunt Dot and Uncle Dom for me were always the "distant" relatives because they lived kind of far away, but whenever we got over there , it was immediately recognisable as family. I loved going to Dot and Dom's; her meatballs, his stories and esp all the hijinks he would get away with with Dot. The one that comes to mind -and always will- was, it seems he would lay in wait (literally) outside the bathroom door on the floor, and when Dot would emerge from a shower, he would grab her ankle at floor height. I have no idea why this story sticks with me, but it is representative of their very special relationship, and no doubt their continuing sense of wonder and childlike play had much to do with their amazing marriage. God Bless all my relatives on the Delia side, all have been blessed many times over. Dot has lived a wonderful, full and fruitful life, may all her progeny go forward in the love she always represented.
