So sorry to be late with this message! I don't look at Facebook often, and just found your post about the memorial service. I went through elementary school on north Broadway, but got Mr. Gaskin for 6th grade instead. Still, I was able to experience Mr. Kanze's teaching at Sunday school; an entry in my long-ago diary says "Today was the first day of Sunday School. We have 120 kids this year. My teacher is Mr. Kanze." I remember him as a patient, gifted educator. I'll bet he was a wonderful father and husband. I am so sorry for your loss.

Only met your Dad a few times. I did, however know your Mom well. We worked together on the Nature Center at Post Road School. Both my children were fortunate to have her as their fourth grade teacher. Your parents were a wonderful couple. Celebrate them.

My deepest sympathy to the Family. Mr. Kanze was my sixth grade teacher, I have only the fondest memories of him. Rest In Peace Mr. Kanze
