We met in Montauk Junior HS in Boro Park in Brooklyn around 1945. The friendship grew through our years together in Erasmus Hall HS and then to Brooklyn College. Some years later we drifted apart, but Larry was always in the back of my mind. He was a good friend and we helped each other during several times when major life determining decisions were made. May he rest in peace.

It is with great sadness that Lee and I learned of the passing of Larry, who I knew for 75 years since we lived in the same house in Brooklyn. Words cannot tell of what a wonderful and unique person and physician Larry was. Please let us know when his Remembrance will be held. With sincere love to all, Lee and Elliott Arian

My deepest sympathy to the family. I'm sure you know what an extraordinary man Dr. Sonders was. He delivered my son, and I can still picture him standing at my side, comforting and reassuring me and then telling me I have a son. How magical a moment for me. He continued to be my gynecologist and was so kind, understanding, patient and compassionate. I know of many other births he attended, and we all feel the same way. What a special man he was! I will never forget him. May you find comfort and peace in his memory and of the many patients he treated so brilliantly along the way.
