Though it is hard to believe that a decade has gone by, I know I speak for others, teachers and administrators in Millburn, who recall the days of working with Maryann with admiration and longing. Maryann had uncommon insight, wit, and people skills, and she used these gifts to make Millburn a better place to teach, learn and lead.

I am so sorry for your loss.

I came to care deeply for Mary Ann as the years ticked by. She was a wonderful teacher' and friend She was an assistant superintendent in Chappaqua. I was an English teacher at Bell School. She spurred me on to think about being the best I could be.
I'll always remember her charm, her wit and her towering intellect.
Fondly,
Phyllis Fuchs

If a person's legacy can be measured in how often or how profoundly he or she impacted others, then Maryann's will live on in ways we can't even imagine.
I began my teaching career with Maryann as my superintendent of schools. She hired me, she trusted me, she encouraged me, and she inspired me in ways no other administrator has. 30 years later, I still think of her skill, her philosophy, her kind words of support, and her genuine passion for doing right by children. We should all be so lucky to have this kind of influence over others. Thank you, Maryann, for making me the teacher I wanted to be. You will never be forgotten.
