Anne Marie Corbett-Mayer
Nanuet - Anne Marie Corbett-Mayer of Nanuet, New York, 80 years old, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2018 with her loving family by her side. Anne grew up in the Bronx, New York and moved to Nanuet in 1963 where she resided until her passing. She was born on January 23, 1938 to Angela and Francis Syracuse. Her mother passed away when Anne was a child, she was blessed to have been raised by Loretta Syracuse who was the only mother she knew. She graduated from St. Helena's High school and married John Corbett in 1958. Anne later married Albert Mayer. Anne was a lifelong parishioner of St. Anthony's church and enjoyed attending daily mass. She went back to college as a young mother and gave her life to helping others. She worked as a director at Camp Venture for many years and embraced all those in her care.
She is survived by her daughters Christine Nolan and Lynn Mirro; her son Michael and sons-in-law Brian and Danny, her five beautiful grandchildren Christopher, Daniel, Nicole, Taylor and Lindsey. She is also survived by her sister Loretta and brother-in-law Kenneth Lagana as well as her loving and dedicated sister-in-law Eileen Syracuse in addition to her many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving brother Arthur Syracuse and husband Alfred Mayer. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4-9pm at Higgins Funeral Home in New City, New York. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, 11:30 AM, at St. Anthony's Church in Nanuet, followed by interment at St. Anthony's Cemetery in Nanuet, New York. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
