Brother Jensen was a great man. He was my JV Basketball coach at Bergen Catholic HS. In those important years of being a 15-16 yr old ... he taught me to become a man. He was tough when needed to be and caring and understanding at the same time. Character was important to him. And living a moral life is what he preached. Sometimes in life you come across a person that changes your life and makes you a better person... Brother Jensen was that person for me... I will miss you but know your in good hands. Until we meet again. Coach!! ❤

I've remembered Brother J many times over the years as the best teacher I ever had. For Latin, Math and life. Everyone should have such an attitude towards life and people as he had. I'm grateful and a better man for having known him.

Through Brother Jensen's sacfifice and devotion to ministry, the Irish Christain Brothers and the tens of thousands of young men whose lives he positively changed and the lessons of Christian faith he instilled in all his students as both a teacher and coach, I am eternally grateful.

I along with many others have been blessed with the honor and privilege of having shared a part of our lives with this truely humble and inspirational man. Brother Thomas Jensen has earned a home in the minds of men that will remain forever.

Bergen Catholic has lost one of its finest educators and the world last lost a wonderful person. I have had the honor and privilege of knowing Brother since 1989 as the most humble dedicated person I have ever known. As the past President of the BCHS Father's Club I personally saw how Brother was always giving , his time , wisedom to the students of BC. He could teach anything and his students became the superstars of today, and his students referred to him as The Master. My son Mark is an MD is where he is as a result of Brother , he made him an outstanding student who became an outstanding physican who is humble and gives back and has that wonderful Christian faith that Brother instilled. God, academics, and giving were the values that Brother instilled in all his students. I know that all the students that Brother had will miss him. As a parent I will miss him, he had a wonderful effect on our family, a truly good man. God Bless Mark Bisanzo P 94

Brother Jensen... my friend, my teacher and mentor. You Sir, truly embodied all that encompasses a good human being! Your honor, honesty, humor, integrity and intelligence made everyday a pleasure to know you. I have modeled my life around the values and principles that you taught me and guided me to understand. At a time in a young man's life when he is learning of himself and how to live a life, you, Brother Jensen were the perfect example. Kind, patient, approachable, you possessed a genuine concern for us that we still felt years later. How blessed we all were to have a good man like you in our lives.

Bother Jensen's first year at Iona Prep was my Senior year. I just scored 18 points against Mater Christie. They had three HS All Americans on their squad including Vern Flemming.
The next day he cut me. He siad it was on of the toughest things he ever did. He needed his third guard to be an underclassman and I was not a good enough ball handler to start at point. There wasn't a 3 pt line. He asked me to be the manager of the team and I am glad I did. When my younger brother followed me to Iona Prep, Brother Jensen took him under his wing. They became even closer than I was.
Lord have mercy on your soul forgive you of what few sins you made. Bring you to Everlasting Life, May the soul of your faithfully departed Rest in Peace. Amen

Brother Jensen / Brother J -- you were an awesome teacher. It was great to be in your class at Iona. You were an awesome all around person: spiritual, athletic, brilliant, humble, and dedicated to excellence in everything you did. You were always a power of example to us. Please put in a good word for us now that you are with the big guy. God bless, Tim Finneran (Young Finneran)

I had the pleasure of having Jude Jensen 40 years ago at Power for math. He always spent the time to make any mathematical problem understandable to all. He taught by example in the classroom and on the court. My four brothers and I certainly were privileged to have known him and to have been impacted by his powerful presence over the years.. Brother Jensen. My former basketball coach at Power Memorial Academy (1975). Truly one of the finest indiviuals I ever met and a person that left an indelible mark on countless students he taught and influenced by his great example. I suspect Brother J has already heard God decare "Well done, my good and faithful servant, now enter into the joy of My Fathers Kingdom"

The Manhattan College alumni community shares the grief, and is now praying for our fellow alumni and the family at this time. The Alumni Office has been informed. As well as the Jasper Jottings community that I personally can reach. We are all a little poorer now. "No man is an island, entire of itself ... any man's death diminishes me". We are sorry for your loss.

Our lives intersected for just four years. The impression you left on me will last for eternity. I will miss you Brother Jensen. I still remember one of you favorite teachings and I find myself teaching it to my kids all the time.

"the mind is like a muscle," you used to say' "if you don't exercise it it will atrophy."

Rest in peace and God bless you.
