My heart can't grasp the fact that Scooter is no longer sharing this planet with me. From Holy Cross, to WKU. We go back like rocking chairs.
Even through tears, I have to laugh about all the good times (and bad) we've shared.
Family, know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. May God bring you comfort and strength in the difficult days ahead

Cary was just a great guy. Always had a smile on his face, always making you laugh. My favorite employee a Hunting Creek CC. He will be sorely missed. Barlow family, please know that he touched many of us. My favorite thing he would do was to tell one of the other bartenders to "Put this on my tab" when he wasn't waiting on me. Making us laugh! God bless.

To The Barlow Family,
Cary "Scooter" Barlow will be truly missed. From our days on Madelon Court, to catching the bus to Doss High, to seeing him at Carly Raes, each time I saw him he had smile on his face and he made sure we all smiled as well. I loved running into him at Carly Raes whenever I was in town. Yes, we can laugh, that's what he would want, and we are crying, he will be truly missed. Scooter, rest in peace our friend and know your presence made a difference in this world.

Scooter, you are truly one of the loves of my life. All the years of greatest we shared, laughter, tears, fights, college, travels etc. When my dad died 25 years ago, you were the first person in LA to great me at the airport. We thought we would live on the wild side and get an apartment there. We were like fish out of water there, but we had a plan so off we went to Hollywood. Well that didn't work out for us so back to Kentucky we go. Remember how we decided to ask "Nita" if we could stay with her for 30 days, and how that ended up being 1 year? Moving on, 3 apartments later and we are still together, cooking (your famous pork chops/mac and cheese stir it up Scootsie) that was the best dinner and we ate it 4 times a week. I knew when I got married there would be know one better suited to give me away "hey man she is all yours but I promise you have your hands full" You were the most handsome of all Scooter that day, and you did it with such ease. I can still fill you squeezing my hand as we made our way down the aisle to the alter, whispering and laughing. You were such a natural in every aspect of your life Scooter. Being suave was your best attribute, humor came natural for you. Remember all the backstage tickets we were able to smooch up on over the years? Ann Nesby, Sinbad, Stephanie Mills just to name a few. What about being on the bus with the band Lakeside? I picked you up at your mom's house in the middle of the night for fear of being alone on the bus. I knew who to call. You would never miss a royal time. What about the time I was able score 4 tickets to the Oprah Winfrey show I can hear you now as if it were yesterday " Girl, I know one of those tickets has my name on it". Yep without a doubt, I would not have went had you not been able to get off work. I knew we were going to have the time of our life and we did. Scooter I could clearly fill up this page as only we know. I will forever cherish what we shared. Hey by the way, I recorded your greeting on your voicemail, so I will always hear your voice. I sure do miss hearing this "Hey Scooter what's going (me) on "nothing girl just curled up with a good book in front of the fireplace, just got back from aerobics" I would give anything to hear those words again. My heart is broken and there will always be a void without you. My life is enriched because of the friendship I was blessed to share with you. I better leave some rooms for others here. I love you Scootsie, watch over me and keep pulling me back in as you did for 25 years. I can hear you now in my ear "girl just stop it" .
