DEPAUW - Loudon, Margherita L. "Margie," 81, passed away, Thursday March 24, 2011, while vacationing in New Orleans, LA.

Margie was born November 5, 1929 at Bedford, IN to the late Enrico "Harry" and Maria Zito Liva.

She was a retired director of Daviess County Retired Seniors Volunteer Program, member of Unity Chapel United Methodist Church, Ramsey, Indiana, served many years in various positions in church and community groups, including the United Methodist Church local, district and conference committees; 40-year member of Girl Scouts; past United way Campaign Director in Daviess County.

Also preceding her in death were her husband, Carman J. Loudon and daughter, Gilda D. Gregg.

Surviving are son, Dr. Michael Loudon (Maureen Robinson), of Charleston, IL; daughters, Jean Loudon (Dr. Gorden Hedahl), of River Falls, WI, Rev. Laura Loudon McDonald (Mark), of Palmyra, IN; son-in-law, Timothy Gregg (Laurie), of Cincinnati, OH; sisters, Adele Edgeworth (John), of Sarasota, FL and Gilda Caruso, of Dover, DE; six grandchildren, Lisa Zito (Alex), of Raleigh, NC, Brian Loudon, of Staten Island, NY, Matthew Gregg, of Cincinnati, Kate Loudon of Charleston, IL, Marc Hedahl (Abby), of Washington, DC and Melissa Kirkendall (Jeremy), Christiansburg, VA; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Unity Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Jeff Reed and Rev. Joe Kamman officiating. Burial will be in Loudon Chapel Cemetery, Depauw. Visitation 3 - 8 p.m. Wednesday at Swarens Funeral Home, 1405 Hwy 64 NW, Ramsey, IN and 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Unity Chapel United Methodist Church, 1760 Lost Creek Road NW, Ramsey.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Roy Harmon, Lois and Robert Raisor for their care of Margie since the passing of C. J.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Loudon Chapel Cemetery Fund in care of Nancy Leffler, 5780 Baker Hollow Road NW, Depauw, IN 47115.

Laura, your mom was a very special person, as you know. I enjoyed so much working with her in Diaconal Ministry. I, too, know the pain of losing a mother, but you can rejoice in the wonderful legacy she leaves.
