Ms. Oberst was a very nice and gracious lady, for whom I had the pleasure of meeting and working for in Laplace, Louisiana. We spent some time touring KFC's in the area. I built the store on Belle Terre Boulevard for her and John and Diane Woods. All were great folks. I was looking up Ms. Oberst, as I had a question for her, and noticed she had recently passed away. I do offer my condolences and prayers to your family.

Dr. Charles and Family,

I returned to the area to hear of the death of your beloved, Norma. Please accept my heartfelt condolences for her loss. I am sorry that I was not present at her funeral mass.

I would remind you of our shared faith. When a loved one dies, we feel the death of love, at least in part. And even our faith might appear meaningless at this time. But keep the faith. Your loved one, like all who go before us, is now at rest in the Kingdom where she now knows what we can only hope. The love of God will not let death be the final answer to our existence. We will see one another again.

Know of my prayers and good wishes for you, especially at this time. If I can be of any assistance to you in your grieving process, please do not hesitate to call on me.

With blessings and promised prayers, I remain

In Christ,

Rev. Tony Smith

To all the Oberst family, "Mrs. Oberst" as I knew her growing up, was always smiling and offering a positive word to those in her presence. She was truly a gem that will not be forgotten. May the gift of solace be with all who were affected by this loss.
Sincerely, Michael Nutt
