Miss Walker/Mrs. Burden was my first grade teacher at Watson Lane Elementary School. I believe it was her first year of teaching. I thought it was neat to have such a young teacher and she may have gotten married during that school year. I remember as a very nice pleasant teacher.

So sorry to hear about Peggy's death. I taught with her for two years at Layne Elementary. She was a fine Christian lady and a wonderful, dedicated teacher. I remember visits in Florida after we moved, and we always exchanged notes at Christmas time. Louis and Allison, my thoughts and prayers are with you. I know you have many wonderful memories of Peggy; she was so devoted to both of you.
Sincerely

So sorry I missed this obit when it was published in the CJ . Just want the family to know I was so sad to hear of the death of Peggy. She was a class mate of mine in High School and we graduated together in 1952. She will be truly missed at our reunions. We had one on 9/10/16 and she was missed by all.

Peggy was my son's first grade teacher and she was a great teacher and a great lady. He always referred to her as his favorite teacher. Also, I got to know her as a co-worker when she was a sub and, at times, worked at Watson Lane. Peggy touched many lives and our world is a little less bright with her gone. My deepest sympathy goes out to Peggy's family.
