Messmer, Roger,
Roger Guy Messmer, 67, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on April 28, 2017, in Louisville, Kentucky. He was born on November 22, 1949, to Peter and Irene (Rainbolt) Messmer. Roger retired from INDOT after many years of dedicated service and was an Army veteran. He enjoyed fishing, doing yard work, and restoring cars and loved his pets, especially the late Slim Jim.
Along with her parents, Roger was preceded in death by his wife, Fannie Messmer, and siblings. He is survived by his loving children, Cynthia Ball and Chris Messmer (Lisa); his siblings, Curtis Messmer (Gloria), Helen Gerdon, Phyllis Buttram (George), and Katie Pursehouse, along with five grandchildren, Lexi, Brady, Dalton, Tarrin, and Shelby.
There will be a Memorial Visitation held on Tuesday, May 2, 2017, from 12 to 2 PM with a Memorial Service to follow at 2 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, IN 47150).
