Toledo, Sherryl Birkhead "Sherry",
71, passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2017. She was born in Louisville, KY to her parents Robert Norman and Annie Mae Birkhead on July 20, 1945.
Sherry graduated from duPont Manual High School and earned her undergraduate degree at the University of Louisville and went on to earn her two graduate degrees from Western Kentucky University. She taught for many years in the Jefferson County Public School System and loved teaching.
She loved her family and took great pride in her children's accomplishments. She adored her grandchildren and enjoyed attending their sporting events. She loved to travel and was an avid fan of the University of Louisville Cardinals, and was also a member of the St. Albert Aces.
Sherry was preceded in passing by her parents, Robert Norman and Annie Mae Birkhead, brothers; John, Larry and Bobby Birkhead, and niece Sheila Birkhead.
Sherry is survived by her loving husband of 50 yrs, Ted Toledo, son; Dr. T. Keith Toledo (Mylene), daughter; Traci Evans (Jimmy), grandchildren; T. Dominic Toledo, Isabella Toledo, Clay Evans, and Vince Evans, sisters; Dr. Judith Ann Birkhead and Mary Elizabeth Ruark, and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held today, June 29, from 3-8 PM at the Arch L. Heady at Westport Village Funeral Home, 7410 Westport Rd. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 30, at 1 PM at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church with burial to follow at Cave Hill Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions can be made to the Autism Society of North Carolina, www.autismsociety-nc.org.
