Rita,

I am very sorry for your loss.

I was talking about Bob last night after a lecture at the Louisville Historical League. When I Googled Bob today, I was shocked and saddened to find his obituary. I worked with Bob at Bickel-Gibson and he introduced me to the historic preservation movement, for which I am very grateful. It seems odd to say, but in 1979, it was a new concept.

I remember Bob for his dedication and his sense of humor. He was a talented architect and wonderful guy to work with. The Bickel-Gibson staff was a great group to work with and Bob was the level-headed, funny, insightful guy who kept it all balanced.

Rita,

I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Bob at Bickel Gibson many years ago. I have many fond memories of him. My favorite was he sat behind me in the drafting studio and Bob had a knack for being able to shoot a rubber band over my head, so that it would land on the desk right in front of me. I think he did it to watch me jump. He was a great friend and a wonderful architect.

Bob and I reconnected on Linked In about 2 years ago and he emailed me about what you both have been doing over the last 30 years. I was very happy to hear that you have kids. I know that you and the kids will miss him dearly.

Thank you for putting his obituary in the Courier Journal. You both still have friends here.

My deepest condolences.
