Let's not forget Sara and her friend Catherine were the biggest fans of the teams in the Tiddly Winks Baseball League. Of course her brother, Howard was the catcher on the 'Outlaws' with Joe and Bob DeSpain coached by Mr. DeSpain.

We played there on one corner of the poor farm with Father Newman of St. Helen's roaming about checking the roof of the church and church grounds while keeping an eye on all of the teams, Tigers, Outlaws, Ramblers and
Bricklayers and several more. Boys from St. Helens and Mill Creek grade schools were the mainstays under Bob Pate the league supervisor.

It was a terrific right-of-passage with Sara cheering Howard and the rest of us on just as we were looking to start Valley High School or Flaget or St. X. What sweet days and sweet people...mostly (the ball players, of course).

Sara and Catherine were sometimes a little late for school. John Cusick in his 'Rambler' picked them up in Shively and we had good chats all the way to Valley High School just making it before the bell rang (John was a careful driver)!

Shocked and sad for Buddy and daughter and your family and friends fiends.

Dear Sara, rest in peace, goodbye and so long.
May angels greet you. Thanks for speaking with me Buddy!

Sara was a long time, dear friend from high school days. Although we have lived miles apart for years we always kept in touch. We loved the reunions to see and talk and "catch up". We already miss her but we will always remember her kindness, gentle spirit and friendship. Love and condolences to all the family.

Honored to have known Sara, truly an amazing individual. Loved her spirit and the way she made you feel special. Will always remember her beautiful smile, great style, love of a good party, delicious cooking, spoiling her grand-dogs, and most of all how she adored her family.
Heaven gained an angel. Sending prayers and much love to your family.

Uncle Buddy, Jen, Jason and Ben,
Thinking of you now and in the days ahead. Aunt Sara was such a kind and gentle soul. Our prayer for her is that she is with her family who have gone before her. Rest In Peace Aunt Sara.
