LOWELL - Leo Joseph George "Butch" Frechette, Jr., age 82, a longtime resident of Lowell died Sunday, January 17, 2021 at Lowell General Hospital following a battle with Covid-19. He was the beloved husband of Muriel G. (Brunelle) Frechette, with whom he celebrated 62 years of marriage on January 1st.
He was born in Lowell on December 29, 1938, and was a son of the late Leo J.G. Frechette, Sr. and the late Rita (McCusker) Frechette.
Leo proudly served his country in the United States Navy.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed for 28 years as a Lead Cluster Controller by Honeywell.
In addition to his wife, Leo is survived by his daughter, Susan Powers and her husband Kevin of Litchfield, NH; a son, Dwayne Frechette of Nashua, NH; two grandchildren, Douglas LeRiche of Lowell and Destiny Powers of Litchfield, NH; a sister, Rosalie Lussier and her husband Alfred of Dracut; two brothers, Donald Frechette of Pelham, NH and Ronald Frechette of Jackson, AR; a sister-in-law, Lorraine Frechette of Dracut; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also the grandfather of the late Gary LeRiche, Jr. and the brother of the late Edward Frechette.
