Ronald Spedoske Obituary

Ronald J. Spedoske

Lansing

,Ron Spedoske fought the good fight against illness for many years and finished his race on September 9th, 2017 at the age of 70.  Through it all, he kept the faith (2 Timothy 4:7).

Ron was born October 24th, 1946 in Lansing, MI to Franklin and Genevieve Spedoske.  He married Marie Spagnuolo on May 23rd, 1969 in Lansing, MI.  He graduated from O'Rafferty High School in 1965.  He worked for Farm Bureau Insurance for 35 years, spending the latter part of his career as a fraud investigator in the Special Investigative Unit.  Together, Ron and Marie enjoyed mentoring young married couples and leading groups through the ALPHA program.  They also volunteered delivering Meals on Wheels.  Ron was a bowler and a hunter, but by far his favorite activity was golf.  His other beloved pastime was attending the music and sporting events of his grandkids.  He was a faithful member of St. Gerard Church.

Ron was outgoing and gregarious.  He made friends easily and under all circumstances.  He will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his devoted wife Marie; his children, Jeff (Cathy), Tim (Heather), and Teresa (Jared) Caron; his beloved grandchildren, Casey (Luke) Slocum, Jake, Will, Josh, Sophia Caron, Cody Caron, and Kylee Caron; Siblings; Kathy (MIke) Mills, David (Carla), Mary (Adrian) Fox, Larry (Sally), Doug, Lori (Tim) Fox; his mother-in-law, Rosemary Spagnuolo; his Aunt, Mary Ellen Cook; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his father-in-law, Paul Spagnuolo; his brother, Gary; and his sister, Barb Dougherty.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Be the Match.

Visitation is from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, Sept. 12, with the Prayer and  Worship Service at 7:00 P.M. in the Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing.  Funeral Liturgy is 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at St. Gerard Catholic Church, 4437 W. Willow, Lansing with Fr. John P. Klein presiding.  Viewing will be from 9-10 A.M. Not sure what to say?

I was shocked to hear about Ron´s passing especially because we were the same age. My family originally lived at 1422 Comfort St.
Then we moved to 1405 N Jenison almost directly behind 1422 Comfort. Not sure if anybody will see this, but is someone from Ron´s family does, please accept my condolences. If you want to get hold of me, my email is. [email protected].

I live in South Carolina, but check the Journal daily for obituary news. The majority of my life was spent in the Lansing area, and yes Ronny and I knew each other from school days and shortly after. Man he was far too young to be taken from us. And a character like him should go on forever. I just returned home from a trip out of state and am just shocked at the news of his leaving us. Time goes by much too fast and we need much more time to have ones like Ronny with us. With a sad heart I send out prayers to all of his family and for his memory.

I had the pleasure of "sharing a wall" with Ron for 3 years at Farm Bureau. What a gem of a man. He was passionate about so many things, but it was clear nothing in the world mattered more than his family. We will all miss him dearly. My heartfelt condolences to Marie and the entire family.

I am deeply saddened by the news of the death of a great friend. He truly was one of the finest men I have ever met. I will miss the great times we had playing golf together over nearly three decades. My heartfelt condolences to Marie, the kids, and the grandkids.

What a wonderful life you lead, and gave to your family. A true role model as Catholic, husband and father. I've loved you my whole life, and am gifted with so many years of happy memories.
Go now and rest with Jesus, and give everyone, especially Dad, my love.
