I had George as one of my accounting professors when I was an undergraduate at MSU and I worked with him years later when I became a faculty member. George was the chair of the Department when I was hired, so I have always been grateful for his decision to hire me. I was very fond of George, he had a very calm warm personality and he was well liked by his colleagues. My thoughts go out to his family at this difficult time.

What a Man George was. He kept my books while coaching at Byron Center. So down to earth, just the kind of person I needed to be around. You are already missed my friend.

I will never forget the very first time I met George. We kept MISSING opportunities to meet "in person" so he walked into my place of work to formally introduce himself and even patiently waited nearby as I finished up some calls so that we could talk a bit more. I thought that was just the nicest gesture on his part and also one that in today's society is truly RARE to witness. Though I had already heard such wonderful words about him, it showed me then and there how genuinely special George was. When he left, I thought to myself "WOW - he really is an incredible man; how fortunate that my youngest son gets to be around HIM!"
And the kindness George extended most recently towards my father will forever be endearing to my heart. George and Dad had a quick friendship that grew stronger each time they were together.

He has left a legacy of fond memories for MY family and he will truly be missed by us all.

May you forever be at peace George.

Most Fondly, Joy Z. Dahlquist and family
