Mrs. Blair was a part of my growing up in the Glencairn neighborhood in East Lansing. Our backyards adjoined and the children were classmates in school. You could hear Mrs. Blair's lucid voice or the bell she had at her back door loud and clear across the two lots as she called her children inside. There's a legend that during one of T.C.'s varsity basketball games he got into an altercation and Mrs. Blair stood up and yelled across the gym, "Calvin, (her voice rising to a long crescendo) you stop that right now!"
I'm forever grateful to Mrs. Blair for the comfort she gave to the Asselin's after the deaths of our parents. That comfort included a large batch of her home baked chocolate chip cookies!
Dr. Blair was a very kind and well spoken man. He was darn lucky to marry an equally kind and brilliant woman in Lola. I was very proud to know them and their family. God bless.

Chad and I were so sorry to hear of Lola's passing. She was such a sweet, wonderful woman of nature. I loved talking to her about all her interests. Cal and Lola were the first to understand and be a part of Chad's dream for Baan.Gan.Aka and we will both always be thankful for their faith in us. God bless you, Lola.

I enjoyed many visits with Mrs. Blair and will miss her delightful manner. My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of sorrow.
