Michael Peter Clark

Lansing, MI - After a courageous battle with end stage renal failure, Michael was reunited with his son, Joshua on January 11th, 2021 at 9:12pm surrounded by the love of his family.

Michael was born on August 22, 1957 in Bay City, MI to Herbert and Betty (Goss) Clark. Michael was very involved with charity work for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. He retired from GM local 602 in 2006 after 28 years of dedicated service. His greatest roles in life though were as a beloved husband and as a proud dad.

Michael leaves behind his wife of 43 years, Ann Clark; daughter, Tiffany Clark; sister, Toni (Sheila) Clark; mother-in-law, Evelyn Shelagowski; in-laws, Jane (Wayne) Broderick, Neal (Deb) Shelagowski, Scott (Denise) Shelagowski and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his son, Joshua; parents Herbert and Betty; twin infant brothers and father-in-law, Eugene Shelagowski.

There will be a visitation held on Friday, January 15, 2021, from 1-3 PM and 5-8 PM at the Palmer, Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Home, Holt Chapel to celebrate Michael's life. Covid-19 protocol will be in place at the funeral home on Friday. Masks must be worn while in the building and social distancing will be encouraged.

Michael's family would like to send special thanks to Fresenius Kidney Care Lansing-Central.

Due to beloved pets (Sami, Dusti and Archie) in the home, family requests that in lieu of flowers, please make donations to Sparrow Hospice Foundation or the Michigan Lupus Foundation. Condolences can be sent to the family at www.palmerbush.com.

Deeply saddened to hear this news. Mike was one of the first friends I had when I hired in at Fisher Body, he was also the first to train me on a job. We had a lot of conversations about life and even more about his kids. He was so proud of them that he would just glow when asked about them. Always joking around pulling pranks and had that infectious laugh when he knew he got you. Ran into him a few years after I left Fisher and at the time he was retired and worked part time at Sams Club. Still the same guy and he took the time to chat asking if all was good on my end. Gave me a quick updated on retirement, his family and how the kids were doing and went back to working. That was the last time I seen him but thought of him often as he was a genuine guy. Seen a couple years ago that the family lost Josh and my heart went out to them. The only positive I can think of is now his dad is with him and they are reuniting. My condolences to the family, you lost a great man in Mike, knowing him he will continue watching over you all from the heavens. Rest In Peace my friend, you’ll be missed by all the hearts you have touched.

Mike was one of the first people I met when I began working at GM. He turned into a great friend my first 10 years at Fisher Body. We had many long talks about life and dreams. I am so sorry to hear of his passing.

I was so lucky God put Michael into my life-what beautiful friend with huge heart-and had such a loving family-i am so happy your re-united with Josh and your family.I am so sorry because of Covid we won't be able to come to the funeral or visitation-rest in peace my friend I will pray for you daily as I have for Josh -I am so sad for Ann and Tiffany but I know they will keep your memory alive-i love you with all my heart buddy Rest In Peace you have earned your reward

Papa bear/Pops/Toots/#1 Dad,
I love you and miss you so much Dad. You were the best dad that Josh and I could’ve asked for. You were always there for us. You guided us, taught us encouraged us and showed how proud you were of us along the way. You were the most selfless man I’ve ever known. You’d do anything for anyone and put your all into everything you did. You were so funny and loved cracking jokes. But those jokes got fewer and fewer as time went on. Life became miserable for you. Mom and I saw you suffer greatly, especially over the past year. You were a warrior thru it all. You sought out help and nobody could seem to help you enough to take away your anxiety and pain. That broke our hearts and we felt so helpless. You were the epitome of the perfect patient right up until the end while you were on hospice. The last word you spoke to me before you could no longer communicate with us was an energetic “thanks” after I told you good job with taking your meds on the day you passed.

I can feel your presence around me and know you’re giving mom and I strength to get thru this. You were so loved while you were physically here with us and will continue to be loved beyond measure while you’re in the heavens waiting for us to join you in the future.

I am so sorry. Mike knew he was loved and supported by his family and friends. He fought a long hard battle with dignity, courage and strength. We prayed for him everyday. He will be missed by all. Mike, Best Brother in Law ever ! A man of his word, Mike loved Jesus, He loved Annie, Joshua and Tiffany. He loved his cats, and Archie. He always wore a smile ! He was kind, compassionate, giving , SO giving , He was such an awesome Dad to his Kids. A loving Husband to My Sister. He fought so long and suffered so much, it was heart breaking. He was loving, he loved to go fishing and loved his sports for sure. We will miss you always and forever. He always called me "Bones" I will miss that SO much. We called him Peg. It went back and forth. Gone too soon but You are not suffering and you are in Your new Home in Heaven with Joshua and all of Your Loving Family. We will be there as soon as we can and hope you will meet us at the Gates. We love you So much Peg, and We will all be watching over Annie and Tiff as requested. Rest In Peace, Brother.
