Marjorie E. Hartel, age 76, of Potterville passed away Thursday, September 14, 2017. She was born May 19, 1941 in Eaton Rapids to Orville and Esta (Wakefield) Burns. Marjorie married William "Bill" Hartel on August 28, 1993 in Eaton Rapids. She worked for Owens-Illinois in Charlotte and retired after 39 dedicated years of service. Marjorie loved to travel. She was fortunate to have had the opportunity to visit 5 different continents. She and Bill relished their yearly color tours to the UP. Marjorie adored her grandchildren. She looked forward to ever opportunity she had to be together with them. Marjorie was a devoted member of the Potterville United Methodist Church, where she cleaned every week and served as trustee for many years. She was also a volunteer at the Potterville Elementary School.
Marjorie is survived by her husband Bill; children: Julie (Ken) Locke, Kathy (Dan) Curtis, Debra (Joseph) Forist, Greg (Emily) McCarrick; 12 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and 4 siblings.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 18, 2017 at 11 AM at the Burkhead-Green-Kilgo Funeral Home, Charlotte. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-4 PM and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Interment will take place at the Benton Township Cemetery, Potterville.
