Steve and my father were first cousins (his mother Evelyn, who I don't remember, was the sister of my grandmother Elsie Evans Richardson). I do remember meeting Uncle Burr when I was a teenager. Somewhere I have a picture of him with my family on a hike in the North Carolina mountains. I also met Steve on a few occasions and my father Don Richardson always thought highly of him. My father passed away 7 years ago this month and my mother last May. I miss them both terrible as I am sure you do your father. My condolences to you both.

Sharon & Laura sorry for your loss. I've known Steve for the last 5 years when he visited us at Helping Hands Respite Care to join us for lunch. Sharon, I met you when Steve brought you one time as a guest and we enjoyed a lively conversation! Steve was so knowledgeable about a variety of topics. We have missed him since he stopped coming for lunch

I've known Steve since we were both members of the "Friendship and Food Co-op" in the early 1980's and later got to know him through our shared membership in the Greater Lansing United Nations Association. I joined Steve on its Board of Directors after he'd been serving for many years.

Steve's had a very long history with - and a positive effect on - the Greater Lansing United Nations Association. He was a GL-UNA member for decades, an at-large Board member, President of the Board of Directors, and a Board Member Emeritus. Steves legacy will continue in each "World Friendship Day that GL-UNA provides for local children as we educate them about the world and the United Nations. He will be honored as we continue our multi-year "Adopt-a-Future fundraiser campaign to provide classrooms for children in refugee camps through the UNHCR. Steve advocated for us to take on these very ambitious tasks - and many others through the years - and supported us in their implementation. Though we will miss Steve Osborn, his message will continue to be heard.
