Nancy and I knew (and met) Don through the 401st BG Association. Don was the gentle giant who quietly brought 'the whole National Archives' 401st Wartime records...to the people. Having the patience of a saint and time for every question, Don was a one-of-a-kind gatekeeper, endlessly matching questions with answers, welcoming all. We will miss him greatly.

So-much he solved for others, he was unable to find an in-uniform photo of his own Uncle S/Sgt. Donald C. Myers, KIA (to post on the 401st Website). If there's any way Family or 401st-ers could solve this one for him, wouldn't that be great.

Regardless, condolences to Don's Family and friends alike, there's only one buddy Don.

Don's passing came as shock. He served the 401st Bomb Group Association well as historian. He has helped countless people make sense of their connections to the 401st, and contributed so much to our group.
We will all miss his warm smile and bear hugs. Take time to rejoice in your memories of Don as well as mourning his passing.
I was lucky to have known him

Nida and Family, my deepest condolences and prayers are sent to blanket & comfort you. Don was a recently refound friend from our time spent at Site 4, Field Station Berlin in the early '70s.
