Lubbock TX - Services for Joe Swan will be held Monday, March 5, at 10 AM, at Resthaven's Abbey Chapel. This beloved husband, father, and grandfather lost his battle with cancer. Joe married the love of his life, Gloria Smith, on April 9, 1953 and celebrated 65 beautiful years together.
He also leaves his son, Joe D. Swan and wife Karen, daughter Cathy Davis and husband Johnny, as well as grandchildren , Joel Swan and wife Amy, Jena Reeves and husband Justin, Justin Davis, and Jordan Davis, and great grandchildren Abi, Chloe, Steyr, and Ruger. Joe is preceded in death by his brothers Sonny Swan and Pat Swan, and is survived by his brother Ron Swan of Nevada and sister Gloria Kennedy of California.
Joe, the ultimate salesman, devoted most of his life to the beef industry. After retiring from Pedro's Tamales, he put all of his energy into this beautifully manicured yard and always had a smile and time to visit with neighbors passing by.
A special thanks goes to his loving caregivers Jayne, Rosie, Irma, and Bob and Rethia Hawkes at the Rocking Chair.

Papa Joe,
I will always remember what you taught me about "wrapping uncooked" steaks and the good times we had together at the Champion Ranch. I will miss you my dear friend. Vaya con dios, mi amigo. Go with God my friend. Until we meet again. Tomas Rodriguez
