I did not realize Rick passed away until I received news today from a former colleague of ours. I was deeply saddened to hear such sad news. I worked with Rick at Bank of Boston for a few years and really enjoyed working with him and getting to know him. He was a true gentleman and very thoughtful and caring. Our world has truly lost one of the great ones. I'm grateful to have known him and to have read his Blog last year. It was so inspiring. May he rest in peace. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. God Bless

My daughter gave me some ole People magazines to read. One was the August 14, 2017, issue with the article about Rick. I immediately had to go to his blog. What a wonderful man he must have been to have so many family, friends and people that didn't even know him get invested in his journey on the Trail and ALS One
I lost my Dad in 1973 at the age of 55 with ALS. What a wretched, cruel, horrible disease. And in all these years not much has changed
My daughters and grandchildren and I do the ALS Walk every year in Des Moines, Ia to raise funds and awareness.
Some day I hope no family will have to suffer through this disease. I'm not sure if you even will receive this at this late date. But if you do Prayers to Your Family and all Families touched by ALS
