MARY WEBB EATON Mary Emerine Webb Eaton, 100, of Boulder City, passed away Jan. 31, 2009. She was born April 14, 1908, in Sedgwick County, Kansas to Louis and Pearl Miner Webb. She was the oldest of four children. Her brothers "Gip" Webb, Allen Webb and sister, Audrey Wetherington Lauterbach preceded her in death. Mary graduated from the University of Wichita with a degree in home economics. She married Bruce M. Eaton June 11, 1931 and he preceded her in death in 1985. Bruce and Mary came to Southern Nevada in 1932 and settled in Boulder City where Bruce was employed in construction of the Hoover Dam. Both were very active in the community. Mary was a charter member of Grace Community Church, past worthy matron of the Order of Eastern Star Desert Chapter 22, past mother advisor to the Rainbow Girls, past president of PEO chapter K, a member of the B.C. Hospital Board and a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Honorary Teachers Association. Mary was awarded a lifetime membership in the Boulder City Parent Teacher Association. Mary taught home economics and family relations at the Boulder City Jr.-Sr. High School for 10 years and taught third grade for three years before retiring. Mary is survived by a son, Gary Bruce of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.; daughter, Kay Hettinger of Las Vegas; six grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Private services will be held. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Grace Community Church, Boulder City, The Homestead at Boulder City or a charity of one's choosing.
