I worked with Matt at KLAS. Great guy. He loved being a camera man.

I've known Matt for more than 20 years through broadcasting. Such an incredible, kind heart. A few years back, I nearly hired him to work for me, but the City of Las Vegas had a much more tempting offer. He called me to tell me the news and was so apologetic, feeling he let me and our friendship down. Nothing was further from the truth. I told him he always has to look out for his needs first, that friendship trumps working relationships.
About 5 years ago, knowing that I had been in the Navy, Matt and Dave Stein surprised me and presented me with a model of the USS Tripoli (LPH-10), the ship I served on. I was stunned and amazed at the same time. The craftmanship was uncanny. I volunteered to pay for the model...and he just said, "Take us to lunch at Twin Peaks", a favorite restaurant of his. (If you've been there, you'd know why.)
If Matt wasn't the President of the Bank of Kindness, then he certainly was a major stockholder because he was always looking out for others.
I will miss you my friend...always in my heart and memories.

Matt - you were taken from us way to soon. We had a nice brief visit a few years ago & it was great to catch up. During the 80's & 90's, after Rich introduced us, you did a great job working for me at West Coast Video. You were more than an employee - we became friends. Your video work was always excellent quality & you interacted very well with the brides & grooms & guests while videotaping many weddings.I know we lost contact after I closed the business. Take care my old friend, we will meet again someday. God Bless, jD

Matt had such an enthusiasm he put into his work every single day. He will be missed here at Channel 2 and I know beyond his work, he has friends and loved ones who are still reeling from this loss.
