We met Monique Bisek in 1969 when a group of French speaking people got together to create the "French Alliance of Southern Nevada". We would see each other at meetings or functions, but we were busy working. After I retired I had more time to spend with the French Alliance. People donated books to us and I knew that Monique liked mysteries. So I would visit her at her son's place or at "The Bridge at Paradise" and I brought her books either detective novels or saga novels in French. We would chat now and then, but lately she would recall her younger years. Some were sad years, second world war left a mark on her, but there was an optimism about her that never wavered.
We will miss her laughter, her values and her friendliness.
Rest in peace dear Monique.
