J.W.Staggs
MILLEDGEVILLE, GA - Georgia- Mr. John William "J.W." Staggs, Sr., age 90, passed away on Friday, January 5, 2018. A funeral service will be held at 1:30pm on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home of Milledgeville. Interment will follow at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12:30pm until 1:30pm on January 9 at the funeral home.
Mr. Staggs is preceded in death by his wife, Lois Evans Staggs; father, Hobart Cecil Staggs; mother, Mary Wilbank Staggs; and brothers, Reuben Staggs and Albert Staggs. Mr. Staggs was born in Florence, Alabama, and lived in Milledgeville for the past 45 years, moving from Florida. He was a veteran of the Army, worked for Knight Rider Newspapers for many years, and owned and operated his own business, Worldwide Discount.
Mr. Staggs is survived by daughters, Jackie (Pete) Luke of Milledgeville and Debra (Kevin) Tanner of Macon; sons, John (Cindy) Staggs, Jr. of Milledgeville and Phillip Wayne Staggs of Bristol, TN; 12 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; and a sister, Dot Morgan of Alabama.
