How sad. While it's a long drive from Southport, I'd try to stop in to his shop every time I passed by. Andrew had an impish grin and a wealth of knowledge - and was a joy to know. May he rest in peace.

Our wonderful neighbors the Flamms were important friends as we grew up on Lake Waramaug, Connecticut. Andrew is remembered with great fondness -- his spirit, kindness, creative ideas of how we could get in trouble, and his serious side, too. We never knew he could cook! (We miss our dad's bread too.) With great sadness over this terrible loss, we send love to Susan, Gene, Doug and Michelle. the Paynters, Brad-Cameron-Nat and Sally

I was extremely saddened to learn of Andrew's death. Much too soon for a gifted man. Early in his, and Michele's, antiques show career, we realized our common interest in the symbolism and folk art qualities of fraternal objects. There had been some prior interest in Heart n' Hand staffs but most other material was ignored.

I will always remember their visit to my home with their dog who likewise enjoyed exploring my basement antiques storage areas.

Such efforts has brought these types of antiques into other's field of vision.

Michelle, I was shocked when at 2AM this morning I finally got to read the paper and discovered Andrew's obit! I had no idea about his health problems. What a truly fine human being Andrew was. I never saw him when he was not upbeat and smiling. I was very pleased to see you both in Mount Vernon at Pam's celebration. We have lost a very good man of which there are far too few. Donna and I send our sincere condolences.

I am sorry to read about the loss of your loved one. May reflecting on all the good times you've shared together help ease the pain you feel. May the God of all comfort strengthen you during this time of sadness. (Hosea 13:14)

"Flamm", my best friend of 30+ years...there are no perfect words that can transcend or encapsulate the void that I feel or my sadness for your parents, Doug, your amazing partner, Michelle, and Lucy the pitbull. Though all has been forever altered, I have daily reminders of you in many small ways as well as the memories of cooking in CT, traveling in India, time spent in your incredibly messy art studio in Portland, pitbull socializing, similar clothing and cufflinks, and countless other moments. I'm lucky to have met you and grateful for our friendship these many years. I will miss you. love, Reet.

Andrew was such a sweetheart. So caring and knowledgeable and willing to share is knowledge with those around him. I already miss his smile and his ready laughter. Michelle and to all his family, I am so sorry for your loss.
