1933 - 2017
WATERVILLE - Marie Bernadette Michaud Peters, 84, finished her earthly life on Sept. 29, 2017, at approximately 6:30 in the morning, in West Virginia.
She was born on May 19, 1933, to Wilfred and Delia Michaud in Frenchville, Maine.
She was a student at Mount Mercy Academy, graduating in 1952.
After, she worked so she could continue her education as a registered nurse, graduating in May 1955.
On Dec. 26, 1955, she married her high school sweetheart, Laurence V. Peters, in Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
They had three children: first Michael, then Nancy, and five years later, Thomas.
She is survived by her children: Michael; Nancy, and husband Joe Cabaup; and Tommy, and wife Lois; grandchildren, Jordan and Kayleen Peters; sister, Juliette Potelle; brother, Robert Michaud; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Laurence, who died in Vietnam on April 19, 1966 (50 years ago on Sept. 23, 1967, the ball field on Armory Road was dedicated to him); her mother and father; her sisters: Joann Michaud, Jeanette Raymond, and Yvette and her brother-in-law Albert Dubois; her brothers: Gerald, and sister-in-law Lou; and Donald Michaud, and sister-in-law Pat; her nephew, David Scott; and both in-laws, Anna and Lawrence Peters.
Visiting hours will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13, 2017, at Veilleux Funeral Home, 8 Elm St., Waterville. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, at Saint Theresa Church, 35 Church St., in Oakland. Burial will be in Saint Francis Catholic Cemetery, 78 Grove St. in Waterville, later that day on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017.
