Art knew my father Jimmy Sullivan from USM. My father used to speak of Art's great talent with table tennis.

I got to know Art too when I worked at Cheverus basketball double headers at the Expo. And his brother Andy used to keep me company on the bleachers until I had to work.

I am sad to see his death in the paper.

All of the greats are leaving us.

Sending prayers and my condolences to the Lekousi family. Art- Mr. Lekousi was an inspiration. He lived life to the fullest and was passionate. I was fortunate to know him in different capacities. He was a substitute teacher at Portland high school when I was a student, we shared the same score keeper chair for home Portland basketball games ( he had varsity/ I had jv), and we both shared the passion of ping pong I feel honored and privileged to have played with him - he taught me so much- I am forever grateful- he will he missed / but never forgotten.

He was wonderful as a mentor. I graduated in 1967 from the U of Me. I did my student teaching under this man and he was amazing. I have never forgotten that experience.

Christ is Risen! I had the pleasure of having Mr Lekousi as my French teacher. Fondly remember his classes and getting tickets from him for the Greek dances. Vous avez été un excellent professeur de français et vous m'avez beaucoup appris. Memory eternal!
