Althea, Son Mark, Daughter in Law Carol and Mark and Carol's Children, Dale Althea's Grandchildren Sabrina, Stephen and Sara. am so sorry. When I moved to Scarborough in 1976 and began my law practice Dale was a mentor for me, Dale had been active Board of Industry and Trade, thus when Scarborough businesses became part of the 13 community Greater of Portland Chamber of Commerce, I was elected the President of the Scarborough Chamber I looked to Dale for guidance, Dale never made me feel as if my question was naive stupid, or why didn't I know something having left active duty in Washington, D.C. as a Federal Court litigator under the direction of the Air Force Judge Advocate General. Rather Dale, pragmatic, always so bright anticipating events, guided me like a Son, when Althea and Dale soon became clients, it just made sense whether Dale had another entrepreneurial thought always considering others or Dale and Althea asking me to bring Flowers from Dale Jr.'s Service at Hobbs to Pine Point Manor so that the residents could have a little uplift in their day. Dale like my Pharmacist Father who served in WWII and like Dale in Korea always accepted what being a Citizen dealt us. Knowing many many telephone Company employees in Maine, without exception when a phone service problem no matter how technical would come up, they would say we'd ask Dale Blackie who always seemed to have an answer. I'll never forget what Dale did for and means to me, expect Mark's memories his Father, even Carol's memories when Carol driving Dale to different activities when Dale couldn't, even to the muffler shop on Forest Ave Althea and Dale bought for Dale Jr. to operate, I still remember Dale by then in his late 70s getting up on a ladder to paint the interior and ceiling of that building and readying the rental house they owned on Route One, Althea, these memories reflect Dale's unselfish work ethic and get things done integrity. RIP; condolences to family and friends. I wonder if this is the Dale Blackie who attended Gordon College with me back in the 1950s. Thanks.
