Frank Gemme Obituary

Frank Gemme, 73
EXETER, N.H. - Frank Gemme, 73, died Friday, Jan. 8, 201 at Exeter Hospital after loosening his battle with Alzheimer's.
He leaves his wife of 48 years, Elizabeth Lynne Gemme; his son Brian and his wife Melissa and their children Isabella and Lily; and his son Bradford and his wife Shelby and their children Peyton and Paige; and many close friends.
Frank was born in 1942 the son of Charles and Ernestine Bradford Gemme in Lincoln, Maine. He was a long time resident of Cape Elizabeth, moving to Hampton, N.H. in 2009 to be closer to his children and grandchildren who he loved very much.
While he enjoyed a successful business career it was his family and wonderful group of friends that he truly lived for. Although his time was in demand he always found time for his family and his community by volunteering as a coach, mentor, and board member for several community organizations including little league baseball, nautilus swim club and his decades of dedication to the Rotary Club and all the wonderful things that organization does.
Frank was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, boating and spending time at his camp on Cold Stream Pond; playing cribbage, water skiing with the kids for hours on end, and enjoying the serenity that only a sunset (and martini) by lake's edge could provide.
He was a constant entertainer; enjoying large holiday gatherings and countless dinner parties (costumes included) with lifelong friends. He was a practical jokester, an excellent listener and an absolute joy to be around.
Frank also enjoyed traveling; to China, Columbia, Japan, Germany, Philippines and Hong Kong for work and with family to London, Spain, St. John and several trips to Nantucket Island; the last of which culminated in an eloquently crafted, late night conversation with the good folks of the Nantucket Police Department. What a night that was :)
Frank touched many lives and was blessed by having so many wonderful friends in his life. He will be missed by all but we will find comfort in the memories we have and the moments we spent together.
Frank was not a religious man so in lieu of services his family will be hosting a remembrance and celebration party in the spring.

Frank was a wonderful mentor and friend. He had an exceptional logical, mathematical mind and was brilliant at stating the obvious....that everyone else overlooked. His humor and compassion got all of us through some tough times and made the good times even better. I learned so much from Frank, and will miss him. Lynn, my thoughts are with you and the Family

I met Frank when we travelled to South America together in 1992. Based on our meeting he then hired me at Gabriel Electronics in 1995. I appreciate the opportunity that Frank gave me. I will always remember him with gratitude and affection. I send my condolences to his family.

Lynne and family,

Bev and I were deeply saddened by the news of Frank's passing yesterday. He played a very special part in my life and was a
very competent and compassionate leader in
many areas. His never ending support and
advice got us through many difficult times.
There are also so many great memories from our world travels together, Hong Kong, Bejing, Manila, Taipei, Tokyo, and many, many more. Rest in Peace my special friend, you earned it and you will be missed by many.

Elizabeth and Family, lost touch with Frank, we were on Board of Directors of the Scarborough Economic Development Corporation. Didn't realize You moved to Exeter, having been an AF JAG Reservist in the legal office at Pease AFB, am familiar with the area and hope I would have contacted Frank, one of my weaknesses as another Purpoodock Club member still is golf at the Pease Tradeport. Imagine when you visited Cape Elizabeth and the area to visit friends, sure Frank saw what our efforts of SEDCO accomplished. Will remember Frank's nice way about presenting ideas, making insightful suggestions on our Board, but never in a pushy way. Dick Cervizzi
