I worked with Kari in registration at the Emergency Department at UVMC. I loved when we had our shifts together. We shared a lot of stories and laughs and the time would just fly by. She loved sharing stories about her son Gunnar. She loved him so very much... She was so beautiful inside and out. I always told her how she reminded me of a young Ali MacGraw. She was such a glorious light and will be sadly missed by all who knew her... My deepest sympathy to her family and friends.

I knew Kari many years ago after graduating from the University of Maine. She was kind, caring and had an incredible sense of humor. My heart goes out to all those she left behind. Sending love and courage to all of you.
Kind regards,

Though I didn't know Kari, I think I would have liked her. Your obituary describes a beautiful and caring soul and the positive impacts of her life on others. As someone who has dealt with depression off and on since my teen years, I think I have an understanding of her "demons". Yet she struggled on and tried to make her life and that of others the best they could be. You obviously loved her greatly and saw the positives in her. I hope that your memories of those times will be the ones you remember the most. Blessings to all who were touched by her during the positive stretches in her life. Depression is a difficult condition to live with for not just the person experiencing it but those that care about the person and feel helpless to change it. May you and Kari rest in peace.
