I met LLoyd in 1976 as rookie salesman at WGAN-TV. He was instantly friendly, funny and kind, even to a smart mouth kid from NYC. Our working and personal friendship went on for decades and went full circle. I never saw anyone have a cross word with him and admired him in many ways. He went to my wedding and sang for the guests. His favorite was the song from Oklahoma.

He visited my Alfred farm and played with my kids and gave Black Walnut seeds to my neighbor which are thirty feet tall today. Hundred year old wide Pine boards from his farm in Limerick built a bar top for me.

He grew up in Alfred as his Father was the jailer and he was well known and well liked.

Many Valleee's lunches were filled with stories of Limerick, Broadway and endless other topics.

My life was better for having known him and he leaves a wonderful, wonderful legacy. I will miss everything about him as so many others will.

I had the pleasure of working with Capt. Llyod at WGAN in the 80's. Altho I knew his history as a performer and TV host of a kids show, I was amazed at his energy and youthful enthusiasm for whatever he was doing at the time. I enjoyed lunching with him, sitting in as he sang birthday wishes and Christmas carols for his colleagues, and his incredible sense of humor. He could make me laugh with just a look my way. Saddened by his loss and my condolences to his friends and family. He will be missed but his love for all will always be with us.

I have known the "Captain" for several decades and always admired his warmth and sense of humor. He and I had several friendly chats at the grocery store. He was a true TV legend. I am sorry for his family's loss, and wish I could have attended his service. Best to Karla.

I worked with Lloyd at WGME. He was a wonderfully kind person. Everyone that knew him was enriched by his charm, warmth and friendship. So sorry that I just found out of his passing and missed his memorial. You will be remembered Lloyd. My condolences to his family.

Sixty years old and he still has such a special place in my childhood memories. And my memories have been shared with children, grandchildren, and my classroom of kids for over 20 years. One person never knows how many lives they have touched. He touched so many and he will live on through those memories and stories shared.

I have so many memories of Lloyd: waiting on him and his mother at Vallees in the early 70's, those king-sized Manhattans, starring with him in South Pacific, 1977, Lyric theatre, soloists at Woodfords Congregational Church! I loved your sense of humor and your voice! Maundy Thursday evening, sitting in the darkened church listening to Precious Lord was so meaningful to me. Thank you for all the memories. Rest In Peace, sir!!

Mr. Knight was one of the most courteous and gracious gentlemen I have ever met. My sincere sympathies to his family and friends on your loss.
