ooooo Rosanne, dear friend, Friend of My Childhood Memories, and I have SO many that I couldn't begin to list them all, but they are all good.
When I became your neighbor in the 6th grade, the Spurling family became a 2nd family for me, your home filled with laughter, love and an escape -- and you became my best friend. I look back on overwhelming memories of playing softball across the street, or kick the can at dusk, climbing "family tree" and "ghost rock", walks along the brook and thru' the woods, climbing the icy water and rocks of "the Falls", looooong walks to Coles.
We skipped school (and got caught!), sneaked cigarettes (much to our dismay as adults!), and got the principal so upset when we wore granny dresses to school and plastered our lockers with psychedelic flowers (oh what simple rebels we were! :) ). We did science projects together and killed a lot of guppies (poor things..). We shared an early dream of becoming oceanographers together. You taught me how to cheerlead and together we made the JV team. You always shared with me and were extremely generous. As I had no money of my own (not being allowed to work and not having family funds for an allowance), you took me to Coles sooooo many times -- and ALWAYS paid -- loaded hot dogs, French fries and chicken gravy for me, French fries with do-do sauce for you, and of course, our favorite, orange freeze!
When my family had to move to NJ, you did not forget me and you ensured that the rest of my classmates didn't either. You purchased both my Junior and Senior Yearbooks and got most of our classmates to sign them and leave me wonderful messages. It was such a thoughtful and kind gesture on your part, typical of your warm heart, and meant the world to me so many miles away.
As young adults we gradually grew apart as we went our separate ways and pursued separate dreams, but there always remained a bond between us, a bond created thru' true friendship and love. I continued to see you as so bright & intelligent, so extremely talented, and a woman who was having fun and making a positive mark on the friends around her.
I will miss you dear friend -- you were truly 1 in a million.
Love, Susan Vincent

Rosanne! What a trip you were! You most definitely have left a absence at the lake that will not be filled. Who could ever fill shoes like yours?! You threw legendary parties....Jamaicanmecrazy! Your holiday egg nog was top notch! (That Christmas party with the Baja Rosa!!) You just knew how to have a good time- and show everyone else a good time. You also had a maternal eye over the boys at the lake and that didn't go unnoticed (or unappreciated). You sure will be missed. Rest easy Rosanne.
