What a kind soul SHelly was! He had a way of bringing together people of different minds to create positive results. He led by example- with kindness, respect for all, love for the Chaine, love for culinary students. He was an inspiration to us all!!! I am so very sorry for your loss....

Shelly was a great man and I feel blessed to have worked for him. He gave me my first job in the wine and spirits industry and a world of knowledge.
The world will not be the same without his presence and he will be deeply missed.

Shelly was my first real boss. I left college in 1976 and started working as a 3 day a week delivery and errand boy for Margolis Wines and Spirits. Shelly was a great boss and along with Harriet, they taught me everything you need to know about business; integrity, passion, determination and purpose. Besides, Shelly had a big heart and a great sense of humor. He followed me for my entire career and I'll miss him. Here's to a big man who made a big impression on me.

For many years, Shelly was the unofficial "Mayor" of our neighborhood - the far end of Club House Road - and together with his dear wife Harriet, they brought sunshine to our block with their hospitality, warmth, humor, and generosity. They were there to welcome us the day we moved in. Shelly was wise and genuine and always a pleasure to be with. We love Shelly and we are blessed that he is part of our lives, both in life and in our cherished memories. We will miss him.
