Samuel L. Gantz
Samuel Leroy Gantz, age 79 of Cardington died Monday morning, December 4, 2017 at Mt. Carmel St. Ann's Hospital. He was born on May 10, 1938 to the late Theodore and Mary (Botdorf) Gantz.
Sam was a teacher for 33years. He had taught in Newark, Roseville, Buckeye Valley and Cardington. He graduated from Cardington Lincoln High School in the Class of 1956 and earned his Bachelor Degree from Otterbein University.
Sam was a member of the Cardington Rotary Club and enjoyed wood crafting in which he built furniture. Sam coached football, track, cross country and basketball.
On May 28, 1966, Sam married Mary Lou Fraunfelter in Zanesville, Ohio, and she survives in Cardington.
In addition to his wife, Sam is survived by a son, Jeffrey (Beth) Gantz of North Canton and a daughter, Lori (Russ) Clapper of Mt. Vernon; 3 grandchildren: Courtney (Justin) Debord, Sheena (Josh) Carothers, and Justin (Mackenzie) Gantz; 2 great-grandchildren: Jude Gantz and Gotham Debord.
Friends may call on Saturday, December 9, 2017 from 1:00 to 3:30 pm at Gompf Funeral Home, 440 Center Street in Cardington.

So sorry to hear of Sam's passing. I enjoyed working with him during his tenure as zoning inspector for the Village of Fulton. May God's healing touch be with you all during this time of grief.

My thoughts and prayers to the family of coach Gantz. He was a good man and i enjoyed being around him when i ran on his track team at Roseville high school.
