Merry Darlene (Constance) Swank
- - Merry Darlene (Constance) Swank; loving wife, mother, and grandmother passed away after a short battle with cancer on Wednesday August 29, 2018. Merry was born to the late Robert and Marjory (Homerick) Constance on December 25, 1956.
Merry graduated from Clear Fork High School in 1975 and spent many years living in the Clear Fork Valley. She married her husband Shelly Swank in December, 1991; throughout their 30 years together Merry and Shelly spent time living in Ohio, Florida and Arizona before returning to the area earlier in 2018. No matter where she lived, Merry always enjoyed visiting to attend the Bellville Street Fair.
In addition to being a home-maker, Merry worked for many years at Bellville Flowers and Gifts where she could often be seen delivering flowers in and around town.
She served as a volunteer EMT and firefighter for both Worthington Township and Jefferson Township fire departments.
In her spare time she enjoyed watching NASCAR, the Tampa Bay Rays, her cats, playing cards, fishing and reading.
Merry is survived by her husband Shelly, daughter Melissa, granddaughter Kylie, cats Darling and Tinkerbell; in-laws Don and Shirley; and sister Barb; as well as numerous special friends and family members.
Merry was preceded in death by her parents Bob and Marge Constance; her brother David Constance and nephew Ian Constance.
The family will be holding a memorial service to celebrate her life on Saturday September 15, 2018 at the New Life Church in Bellville from 1-3 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Southeast Guide Dog Service at 4210 77th Street East Palmetto, Florida 34221 or the American Cancer Society PO Box 22478 Oklahoma City, OK 73123. She will be laid to rest at Mansfield Cemetery; no graveside services will be held.
