Donnabel Marie Hetler
Mansfield - Donnabel Marie Hetler, 97 passed away on Friday, January 5, 2018 at Winchester Terrace Nursing Home. She was born on July 13, 1920 in Johnsville, Ohio to Avery and Delta Shively. As a child, she grew up in Bellville, until she went on to work at Westinghouse. She worked for 33 1/2 years, and while at Westinghouse she met William "Bill" Hetler, a World War II veteran. They were married in 1949, and bought their home in Mansfield. She was a loving mother to her only child, Don and a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother. Donna's favorite things were baking and being with her family whom she lived for.
She is survived by her only son, Don (Pam) Hetler; grandsons, Erik (Amy) Amelung, Wade (Traci) Amelung, and Rob (Stacey) Hetler; great-grandchildren, Brock and Ali Amelung, Ben and Ryan Marie Hetler; niece, Bev (Denny) Balliett. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Bill; her brother, Raymond Shively; sister in law, Marge Shively; sister, Alta (Dale) Martin; and a nephew, Gerald Martin.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 from 2:00-5:00 pm at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street. Her funeral service will be Thursday, January 11, 2018 at 10:30 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family.
